Privacy Policy
This privacy policy is applicable to the Telic app (hereinafter referred to as "Application") for all supported platforms, which was developed by Petr Bína doing business as Telic (hereinafter referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is provided "AS IS".
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information
The Application does not create user accounts on the Service Provider's servers. It is fully functional without any personal information.
Local Display Data:
If you choose to link Google Drive, the Application receives your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This information is stored exclusively on your local device solely to display your current connection status (e.g., "Logged in as [Name]"). This data is never transmitted to the Service Provider or third parties.
Technical Tokens:
The Application stores OAuth 2.0 tokens locally to maintain the secure connection with Google Drive for background syncing.
The Application does NOT collect (transmit to servers):
- Your name, email, or profile data (these remain local).
- Your content (tasks, habits, notes, journals, etc.).
- Payment information.
- Precise location data.
- Hardware identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, etc.).
Anonymous Usage Analytics & Crash Reporting
To help improve the Application, we collect strictly anonymous usage and crash data. Both of these can be easily disabled (opted-out) in the Application's Settings at any time.
First-Party Usage Analytics (stats.telic.dev):
When enabled, the Application sends basic lifecycle events (like when the app is opened or closed) to our custom analytics service (stats.telic.dev). While this service is built and controlled by the Service Provider, it utilizes third-party cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare) to process and store the data. To count active users without tracking individuals, we use a daily-rotating hash. This hash changes every 24 hours and cannot be reversed or linked across days, to a specific device, or to you. IP addresses are never stored; they are only used temporarily to determine your country and then immediately discarded.
Crash & Error Reporting (Third-Party):
When enabled, we use third-party services to collect diagnostic data when the Application crashes or encounters errors. We use Measure.sh (on mobile platforms) and Sentry.io (on desktop and web). The data sent includes stack traces, exception messages, basic device information (OS version, architecture), and navigation breadcrumbs (which screens were visited). The transmission of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is explicitly disabled in our integration with these services.
User Data Storage
The Application is designed with privacy and user control as core principles:
Local Storage: Your productivity data (tasks, habits, journals, reminders, etc.) is stored locally on your device. This data is not encrypted on the local device filesystem and is under your complete control.
Backup and Sync Behavior: The Application performs automatic synchronization in the background. When your data automatically syncs, new backup copies replace previous backup copies. Only the current state of your data is maintained in these backups.
Google Drive Integration (Optional): You have the option to sync your productivity data to your personal Google Drive account. This stores your data in YOUR personal Google Drive account (not on our servers). This is a direct device-to-Google connection.
Third-Party Services and Infrastructure
To operate and provide features, the Application communicates with the following third-party services and infrastructure providers. These providers only receive data strictly necessary for their function (such as anonymous telemetry or user-initiated prompts), and none of them receive your personally identifiable information from us.
- Cloudflare (Optional) - Acts as the cloud infrastructure provider hosting our custom stats.telic.dev analytics backend.
- Measure.sh / Sentry.io (Optional) - For anonymous crash and error reporting as detailed above.
- Google Drive API (Optional) - Strictly for your optional file backup directly to your personal Google account.
- AI Providers (Optional) - If you use AI features within the Application, your prompts and relevant context are sent directly to the AI provider you have selected in Settings (e.g., Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, or a custom API endpoint). The data shared is subject to the privacy policy of the specific provider you choose.
- App Distribution Platforms - The platforms used to distribute the Application (such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store) automatically collect their own telemetry, usage, and diagnostic data when you download or interact with apps on their storefronts. The Service Provider has no control over this data collection. It is governed entirely by their respective policies, such as the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider does not maintain a user database containing personal information. Your productivity data is retained only on your local device or your personal Google Drive until you delete the Application or the files.
For anonymous Usage Analytics, raw session data is retained for approximately 35 days on our servers before being permanently aggregated into daily statistical totals (e.g., total active users per day) that contain no user hashes.
Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
Security
The Service Provider prioritizes the security of your data by relying on local storage and your personal cloud provider's security. However, please note that local productivity data on your device is not encrypted by the Application itself.
Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
Since the Service Provider does not collect personal data, create user accounts, or store user information on external servers, there is no personal data to request, rectify, or erase from the Service Provider. Our anonymous analytics data cannot be linked to any individual. You maintain full ownership and control of your data on your device, and you may opt out of all anonymous analytics and crash reporting within the Application's Settings.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page. This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-08-23.
